Balham Community Church is a Christian community rooted in a Trinitarian understanding of God but shaped by a variety of theological streams

People who call Balham Community Church home find themselves grounded in beliefs about God consistent with the Early Church followers of Jesus as expressed in the Apostle’s Creed. We embrace a wide spectrum of diversity as a community and we are committed to living relationally according to our values, regardless of marital status, political views, where you are on your spiritual journey, sexual orientation, gender, race or ability. We endeavour to welcome and embrace diversity.

This quote from William Stringfellow would describe how we live out our values ...

"Dynamic and erratic, spontaneous and radical; audacious and immature, committed if not altogether coherent; ecumenically open and often experimental; visible here and there, now and then, but unsettled institutionally. Almost monastic in nature, but most of all enacting a fearful hope for human life in society." – From An Ethic for Christians and Other Aliens in a Strange Land

Our purpose is to inspire and enable everyone to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God, knowing that each person expresses this in their own unique way.
