At the Golden Arches
Sian and I were on our way to my neice's dedication after the service on sunday. Halfway across London Sian had a sudden craving for MacDonald's so we pulled in and I stood in line to order. At the time there were two lines- so I naturally joined what appeared to be the shortest one... and then changed my mind. Good move I thought, as I got to the front of the queue ahead of the man who had been waiting in front of me in the other queue. I could feel the swell of victory. I was then struck by the stuff we had been talking about for lent about doing stuff for others. The man next to me had been waiting for longer than me and looked naffed off. So when it came to my turn, I let him go first. It was against all my selfish instincts but it was a great feeling to prefer others.
Oh, by the way, Sian had a cheesburger.
